Great start to the night...

Watched the last part of the Braves (my Braves?) semi-beatdown of the Philadelphia toinght on the mlb.com.tv. Gives the Rocks at least a chance to become tied up with the phills after this evening's games. It's good to see Atlanta not giving up on the season quite yet, hopefully they'll keep that shat up. Also got to be routing for the Brewers to stay in contention here on out, so they can give the whale vagina competitive games for their weekend series (that and the fact that I like the Brewers and hate the Cubs).

Good to see Nomar, Gonzo, Furcal, and Abreu out of the lineup, and Holliday in it. You got to think the Dodgers are a little pissed off at us considering we single handedly ended the season for them last week, with a couple of the games being quite the heartbreakers (for them). Currently in the top of the 2nd, and Ubaldo seems a little shakey after getting out of a huge jam in the 1st. Let's hope he settles down.

C-N in attendance?

Haven't seen much of the game, but made it home in time to see the Rocks regain the lead and the Ubaldo piss it away. The two hits weren't real 'hits', but that pitch to Loney was a big mistake. Fuck. I hate Loney.

Penny is out and we still have 12 runs to work with. Go Rocks!

I am sweating bullets watching this shat. I thought the forecast called for Fogg?

Holy shit....Tulo just went yard to regain the lead!! Is this an omen? Late inning, clutch Tulo homers haven't always been good to the bullpen, but this team is on a mission. I say fortunes will change.

Tomorrow calls for Fogg......I think.

I just emailed the booth to see if that homerun won the ROY for Tulo. But I think Goodman and Frazier are more into Ryan
Braun.

Props to Herges.

Props to bootlegging the Pads vs G-dawgs on mlb.com. Thanks for the tip, Deathtruck. Too bad my computer is too slow to stream live video very well.

I should probably just concentrate on the Rocks game. Far from over. Let's get a little insurance.

Face Proctor! Serves you right for throwing at the NL MVP.

Word. Sweet piece of hitting Todd.

All with two outs, I might add.

Fuck the Fathers!!!!!!!!!

Super spilly 'saving' the not so super fuentes.

TroutDog said...

Yeah, that lame, but we need to win this game. Fuentes really trying to get his ass kicked by Tulo in the locker room there. He got lucky as hell and Hurdle has got to be about shitting his pants about now.

My Rocks! Well, now I'm a little more pissed that the Padres came back. But, by my calculations, we now control our own destiny, since we are tied with the Phils and three back of the DBacks (with 3 left with the Dbacks). You score 9 against the dodgers on the road with Penny starting, you better freaking win!

9 in a row - keep it going!! Shakey starting pitching and late bullpen work, but to win like this in LA is huge.

Tulo for ROY!!

Agreed, but the only quality pitching tonight was from the middle bullpen, Spier (with D) and Herges. Spilly had fuckin awesome game with the glove and the bat; good play in general from the CF position. I guess my heart attack tonight isn't going to happen.

War Hurdle not shittin his bridges

Huge win for the Rocks... outstanding game by Spilly and that block at the plate by Yorvit on Kent was fantastic. Beard has been clutch... as has Tulo.

As much as I want him to win it, Tulo won't get the ROY. He is an outstanding player, and most years he would be a shoe-in... but Braun has it locked up. Tulo is only hitting .250 on the road, so everyone will talk about the Coors Field advantage... meanwhile Braun has almost identical home/road numbers and more HR's and a better average. Tulo's outstanding defense and clutch performances will unfortunately get overlooked. I hope not, I hope Tulo wins it, but the Rockies get no love due to the Coors factor (which is BS)

Anyone catch Tulo yesterday on Rome obviously getting his Karma on after last night's blast?? Rome's comment after the interview and I quote, "that guy is a STUUUD!" Lots of Jeter comparisions and Long Beach love. Looks like NL MVP will come down to Holiday and Fielder. I don't know about you guys but forget the WC let's win the division!!!

I agree Tulo is a longshot, but if the Rockies get into the playoffs and the Brewers don't, it would be a pretty big snub to deny both Tulo and Holliday.

Who knows how baseball awards are made?

More on the ROY debate. A pretty good blog about it here.

Call these Rox butter. cuz' they are on a ROLL!!

...sorry about that, someone can now make a post with some sort of Fogg pun.

things are getting even weirder with out of town guests yelling the following phrase at my TV, "C'mon Super Gallego!"

Thanks Troutdog... that is an interesting blog. I agree... I think Tulo should win ROY and I'd rather have him than Braun any day. I just think the national media will give him the Coors discount and people seem to value HR's over defense.

I completely agree that if we make the playoffs... Tulo & Holliday are both deserving... one or both had better win their award.
