Colorado Springs Rockies

It's great to have your entire pitching rotation made up of AAA players during the months of August in the middle of a playoff race. More bad news today as Cookie has sore ribs and his start is being pushed back to possibly Sat. Tomorrow, some dude named Elmer Dessens, an emergency call-up, is making the start. Sweet. In addition, the Rox signed (traded for?) Ramon Ortiz of the Twins. I know nothing about this guy either, except he's got a good name for a baseball player, or at least more common than Elmer. A .500 roadie is now looking like a long shot.

Elmer is a former Dodger and isn't very good. Ramon pitched for the Angels for a while and has decent stuff. Kind of a mystery why he never developed into a better pitcher. Not a bad pick-up though for the Rox.

Hey we were thin with pitching to start the season so this kind of shat happens when you got a owner who won't open up the pocketbook.

yeeesh. i'm a little scared about the remainder of this roadie (and the first one-sixth of it too for sure).

oddly enough i received two tickies to the Monday Pirates game in the mail today...not quite sure why. very bizarre.

Could it maybe be another perk from paws at the park? Hopefully.

Jesus, Jimenez just got robbed of an rbi. He's got good stuff tonight, but the boys aren't coming through with runners on.

Cookie now on the 15-day DL. Great, that's all I need!

i don't know...i just tried to win the "player of the homestand gift pack" last time where you won a dream date with Spilly (not really, you got something else) but anyways to enter, I needed to give my home address etc....perhaps a pair of Pirates tickets in the right field mezzanine are like a 37th place prize?

My main man E-Stew!

I didn't care for the Spily sac decision by Hurdle, but I guess things worked out with the big pinch hit. The bully needs to bear down and get the job done.

My Rockies......

A gutty victory tonight with Young starting. My Main Man Corpas was a little rusty, but held on. Well done......
