Broncos Finally Get Some Good News?

As noted already by captainwhatshisname in the previous post's comments, Travis Henry was victorious in his appeal of the pot suspension. This is a rare victory for the Broncos in the last couple of weeks, although it's certainly questionable whether this is truly a "victory." For Travis Henry, Mike Shanahan, and pot-smoking football players, sure, this is a big win. (My, what strange company you keep, Shanny!) As a Bronco fan, it doesn't feel like a win.

On its face, I don't have a problem with the reinstatement. Pot seriously cannot help you on the field and probably isn't too damaging to a player's performance if he wants to partake in the occasional off the field toke. I do have a problem with running backs on the Broncos that look slow and fumble the ball, which is why I'm not too stoked that Henry is here for the rest of the season. Since we've already established the season is over anyway, and he's almost sure to be gone next season, I'd rather just cut ties now with this over-achieving procreator .

Why can't we get some news nfl news like Tom Brady was arrested scoring heroin after last night's big win or Eli Manning was picked up for soliciting a male prostitute?

The Travis Henry saga is just irritating more than anything.

I like bongs.

Eli Manning would be doing himself a favor with the NY media by getting busted for soliciting man whores. They'd probably go easier on them than they do now.

"STDs, not INTs!"

since when did yogabody contribute photos to KTH?

...it is sort of pretty good news actually I think perhaps in a way that may not matter that much in a season that is lost already for the most part, but I'd still like to see the broncos beat the chiefs and some other teams. (enough waffles?)

Shanny would fuck up any good draft pick we got as a result of our shitty season anyways, so I'd like to see a couple W's before our long Bronco-induced 2007 nightmare is over.

so back to Henry....the broncos need healthy RB's, and granted he has looked slow and stoned and may have a vat of vegetable oil on the sidelines that he submerges his hands into before taking the field for offensive possesions; perhaps he will decide to turn it on and accept this second chance at snapping tubes and knocking up half of the Denver metro area - all the while playing football in the NFL?
maybe? i would if i was him.
i'd likely throw in a liquor intake so great that it requires my liver to be carted around in a wheelbarrow off to my side to boot. hmm. that might futher slow me down in the running game. fuck it, i'm keeping the wheelbarrow!

Funny shit. Couldn't resist taking advantage of the bong photo-op. Not often KTH is tempted like that.

Sammy W "hit on" the one positive I was thinking of too. The Broncos are thin on RB's right now and it won't hurt them to have dime bag in the backfield. I just had such a good negative post going, I didn't want to shine light on the positives.

War wheelbarrow takes!

During the first few games of the season, Henry looked really good and was leading the league in rushing. It does look like he is a step slower now, especially compared to speedsters like Young and Hall.

Broncos signed Henry to a 5 year deal, I imagine that he'll be around next year unless he keeps fumbling or gets injured.

Broncos just cut Sam Adams. Guy had only 9 tackles on the entire season. Some run stopper he turned out to be. Good riddance.

Now... where is this bong you speak of?

Sammy Winder said...

glad to see Adams gone. wow, 9 tackles, those are some reverse-gawdy numbers

Sam, your first comment is brilliant.
Cue those cut-out old Guiness guys.

He sucked last week, period.
Minus the two scores.

Romey's take on the Atomic Dog was great. Broke out the "there's stoned guys on every street corner in Denver that could get 1000 yards behind that line."

I like the way Hurdle is thinking:

There will not be a platoon system at catcher. Hurdle said he's not looking to cut catcher Yorvit Torrealba's playing time after he reached a career high in games played. Chris Iannetta is his backup and Hurdle said he was encouraged by how Iannetta finished last season offensively.

what about that HUGE offer to Cook? 30mil for 3 years seems like way too much money for him...
am i wrong?

I thought I had posted a comment earlier about Cookie too, but I guess it didn't work. It's hard to tell what are reasonable finances for these contracts. It's encouraging that they're willing to offer up that much to anyone and according to the Post, sounds like it's going to get signed. From what I have read, 30 million for Cook's services is a bit of a bargain. Hard to believe. My lost comment had suggested that O'Dowd include a clause in the deal that required the "good Cook" to show up at least 80% of his starts.

The Rocks have also offered up $60 million of 5 year to Holliday. Reports are that he's lukewarm about the offer. I'd be blown away if we can lock him up for 5 years.

It does seem like we should be giving Holliday a little more, and Cookie a bit less (if the good cook clause isn't included).

This avs game is down right looney.

that AVs game was downright lame...
(though a very exciting hockey game)

i'm compelled to post about that travesty. gotta put youngsters to bed first though.

Avs and Nuggs decided to coordinate a pair of similarly lame losses this evening. Gotta agree that hockey game was flat nuts in the 3rd period. I swear every time I looked up while trying to eat dinner, there was another goal. Too bad it didn't spill over into OT. YoungBear, bring this squad some Mojo on Fri night.
