Herges and Yorvit Jersey T's for next year?

Sure, why not?

(c'mon Brian)

Just got off the phone with the TD, and he seemed a bit distraught that no one was blogging about the probable return of Yorvit and Matt Herges, so let me start it. Both were pretty crucial in our late season surge, and Torrealba was rather dollars during the NLCS. I like'em both; kudos to you O'Dowd. The next Rockies post will probably be a so-long KazMat blog; it sound like he'll be going to one of two hated NL Cetral teams (Cubbies or the Strohs). So we'll be in the market for a 2nd Basemen soon. Is Carlos Baerga a free-agent?
Avs looked pretty good last night (on a side note).

I think it's A Good Idea, (to steal a song title from Sugar..)

BTW, made a fine one dollar thrift store score the other day, the rare & elusive Francis jersey-T.

Put in Gallego.

Nice, Sam.
Standing on the edge of the Hoover Dam!!!!!!!!! Just listen to that record the other day for the first time in eons....

Yorvee! Hergee!
war Bye Bye Carlos

The bizarre decision to even reference Sugar inspired me to my as-we-type-state of listening to the "short-form album", Beaster.
Have you seen the Judas Cradle?

Put in Gallego, indeed.

I'm no jesus christ.....

By the way, there is (was?) a pretty decent Bob Mould live on demand performance showing on comcast. The aforementioned Hoover Dam, as well as The Act We Act from the debut Sugar album. No Beaster....wtf?!?!?

By the way, this friday hangover is brought you by the good folks at the nfl network, who forced me to leave my viewing den last night and to a bar to watch favre (aaron rogers) and the pack lose to the becoming more and more hateable 'Boys. The Pack insisting on f$cking up my picks!

Does Romo just heave it up every play?

YB-Nuggets do a pretty good job of getting outplayed by 30-40 points in at times this season. I went to bed with them owning the Lakers and wake up to see them having gotten blown by the same team?!? Looks all to familiar to me.

I only saw the end of the game and was shocked to see that they were up 18 at one point. It's been a rough stretch for NuggPups. AI must be drinking too many coronas over at McGloughlins.

I heard that the Rocks were asking Ian Stewart to work out at 2B in the offseason... we'll see.

Will miss KazMat, but very glad we got Herges and Myvit back.

Nuggets seem to be devolving.

Coach B is leading my Buffs back to the promised land with a W over his old team in college hoops.

Decision from NFL on Travis "my boys can swim" Henry is expected today according to the Rocky.

Pretty fucking funny knickname captain.

Maybe they should work on Stewart's ability to make contact with the baseball before thinking about him at second. That is promising news though in the sense that they must be wanting to keep Atkins around.

Good call on Ian "what have you done for me lately" Stewart. I'm not sold in his limited big league appearances.

I do agree with a philosophy of not overpaying for decent players if it means shelling out some bucks to keep Holliday, Atkins, Hawpe, Tulo, Jimi, etc. If I had my choice, I wish we could keep KazMat in exchange for Willy T.

Will Buzz and the Buffs be dancing?

that Mould bit on demand ends today...i was pleasantly surprised. pretty good performance, Celebrated Summer even.

I've got some faith in Ian Stewart for some reason. For the most part, the Rockies have made good choices with their touted homegrown farmhands over the years. (Helton, Holliday, Tulo, Atkins, Hawpe etc)
Besides a pretty weak "break" into the bigs, hard to imagine all the hype surrounding Stewart to be only hot air. Sounds like we will find out...

That Nuggets game last night was horrible...I guess, at least they ain't the Knicks.

I hope the Buffs are dancing in March... but too early to tell. Haven't exactly played a lot of powerhouses thus far. They are 5-2... so if they hold their own in a tough Big 12 conference they have a chance. Stanford is next up, will be a good test.

Is it happy hour yet?

Young Bear said...

Stanford is good. CU will get blown.
they may be dancing come spring time, but only if you consider the NIT some kind of prom. I'm down with Coach Bzzzz, but they aren't ready to compete and win road games in the Big 12 (what really ensures a bid)

I went through a similar nuggets' experience as Riggo. Kinda dominating from what i saw.
Then just got buckled in the second half, when i was sleeping

unwar no Lights shining on this Friday Night.
Unless you are down on Bannock and Civic Center Park.

but what of Elmer Dessens?

or Mark Redman for that matter?

Lost in the shuffle of NBA madness last night (Hire Isiah!), Dubs have a winning record for the first time this evening, making Yao and T-Mac look positively ordinary in the process.

was wondering when we'd hear from the Golden State about its streaking Warriors!
Stephen Jackson for MVP?!?

Mac said...

Most definitely - hey, he and Dwayne Wade were both out 7 days to start the season. But which player's lifting their team up where they belong? Where the eagles fly on a mountain high?

(Sorry for the AOaaG soundtrack ref - I spent the only Mould take I could think of on the last post)

didn't even catch the F.U.E.L. Sugar reference....

nicely done.

Just returned from a proper nuggs ass-whipping of the clip-roach. Make that 2 fridays in a row where I've seen the nuggets beat a beaten-down, bad team. I'll take full credit for the 2 wins in the last 7 games.

TD, i wasn't there last night. I got your text this AM.....

Saw the first half, then zzzzzzZZZzzzz....
kinda half expected to wake up to a Nuggets' 20-point loss.

TDog, where are the shots of mullets/big johnson shirts/69 gear????? Were you sitting down low or something???

What, do you think you're better than me?

TroutDog said...

The photo ops just weren't there last night, I'm afraid.

Neffa the Avs' road record!

...Herges confirmed to be back in the fold.
