The last screwjob for the Rockies

Just like Barry Larkin stole the award from Dante in '95, another shortstop steels the award from another deserving Rockie left fielder. Jimmy Rollins wins the 2007 MVP award. No surprise I'm sure for most of us, considering the voters have been hatin' on us ever since the golden glove awards were handed out (I believe Jimmy Rollins stole an award there as well).

I guess Rollins had descent stats with 30 dongs and a shit load of stolen bases... but the dude hit below .300 this year, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't in contention to win the triple crown.

Oh and I guess Citizens Bank Park isn't a hitter friendly stadium.

Maybe when we win the World Series next year, the voters will start paying closer attention to Gen-R.

The only positive I can come up with is I'll take the NL Pennant over ROY or MVP. More pissed about that little rat Pedroia winning AL ROY. Hate that guy! We have scoreboard on Rollins spelled S-W-E-E-P. He knows who the true MVP is!

The voters did what no team in the NL could... shut down the Rockies.

Sweet photo, DT.

Fanning the flames of unfinished business for the Rocks. Thanks, sports writers.

I can barely wait for the roadie down to Tuscon for spring training. You in, Riggins?

shit. i just heard on ESPN that one of the voters voted Holliday sixth place in the MVP race!
WTF? WTF? WTF?

that is unbelievable. i've got nothing against Rollins or him winning really. man, if we didn't have Tulo, I can't think of another SS in either league I'd want on my team instead of Troy, but 6th fucking place? who was ahead of him? i can't even throwout the names of some "ironic" humorous players to occupy the 2-5 spots, because then I would have to list the entire NL (besides Rollins) as no one was even close.

I prefer the team getting to the WS more than any of this player-award BS, and I think Tulo got jobbed worse than Holliday when I really think about it, but my jaw dropped when Neil Everett on Sports Center said that one voter had him sixth.

My guess is that the five would be Rollins, Wright, Fielder, Howard, and either Chipper or Utley. I deduce that horseshit from reading the breakdown of who got top 3 votes. Wasn't able to find any website that lists what each writer voted. That probably isn't released to protect the safety of those shitheads.

By the way, I see that Tulo got 1 third place vote. Have to think the Cowboy is responsible for that one.

I guess Lebatard thought Pujols should have won. Did he even play last year? Are there still pro baseball teams in Florida?

Cool - I'm thinking baseball watching, golf playing, and some reservation gambling along the way.
