Disgraceful showing tonight. Not unexpected, but a wretched trainwreck to watch nonetheless.
Let's face it - the Broncos didn't deserve to go to the playoffs...not sure the Chargers do either, but the Broncos certainly don't, and needed luck, or the offense to produce orgasms of points to win games this year.
This team has some very SERIOUS defensive issues. The shit runs deep. Real deep.
Could be an interesting offseason. Check that...it better be.

Was about to make this post, entitled, "The Anti-Orange Crush", but saw I was beaten to the punch....here goes anyway, as a very long comment...
Had to know there was a distinct possibility the season was going to end this way. The Chargers have a good offense and the B'cos have possibly the worst defense in the league. Consider that the B'cos defense gave up 52 points AND went the second consecutive week without forcing one single fucking turnover. I think they might have had a turnover or two in the Carolina game, but all in all, this defensive squad could not stop anyone and had an uncanny knack all season to not force turnovers. That, my friends, is a double-whammy of shitiness.
The only solace that can be taken in this first-rate choke job is that we won't have to see the Colts come in to Invesco and make a mockery of our D. Still, it sucks getting blown out (yet again) to Felipe Rios and missing the playoffs.
I seem to remember Shanny making preseason guarantees about making the playoffs. The RB injuries certainly didn't help, but this team clearly had issues on the defensive side of the ball that do not warrant going to the playoffs. While Cutler probably made some incremental strides this season and I think there are certainly bright days in store for the offense, the defense and special teams remain an utter mess.
So, another year of no playoffs for Denver. I would say that big changes are required in the aforementioned areas and on the coaching staff. No one should be considered untouchable (I'm looking at you Shanny) with the exception of Champ.
Damn the screen pass and Go Colts.........
I guess we'll be seeing the Evil Otto pic.
I totally agree with Cutler's postgame comments.
RIP Broncos! Can someone please help me understand how the dudes, Woodyard/Larsen/3rd string guys who like to play football, help win games on the road against a team like Atlanta (they aren't crappy)and haven't seen the field since?!?! I don't want to hear a damn thing about Cutler. Dude is a stud and eventual Super Bowl MVP and without him this team doesn't win more than 5 games period. Every team, outside of the Broncos, can put some sort of pressure, resembling a rush, on the QB, force a TO now and then but not this merry gang of Romosexuals! LT was laughing at our defense's inability to tackle. With that said, we are back in the Super Bowl in 2010!
Evil Otto in effect. He's chasing down the LSD-addled Bronco logo.
TD...great takes.
Riggins...I feel you on the Cutler tip. He HAS to play in gunslinger-mode with our defense, so the turnovers are forgiveable to a large extent. The running game in shambles doesn't help either.
This season was just flat painful to watch when the defense was on the field. I'd love to see a montage of my facial expressions everytime the opposing team busted a 30+ yard run on us this year. (the montage would be about as long as a Kurosawa film unfortunately)
Fuck the Bolts. Go Colts.
couldn't agree more with the whole 3rd string defense comments. Gotta think those guys have a legit chance at starting next year.
But who knows what goes through the mind of a football genius.
(actually I do know: "let's try that screen play again")
At least we have that brilliant Evil Otto to hang our hat on for this season. I wonder when Shanny scripts the first plays of the game he flips a coin. Heads: Screen Pass. Tails: Not a screen pass.
Is our entire defensive coaching staff fired yet?
Ouch! I think I just tore my hamstring! Out for the rest of the year......
ST - I would also like footage of my body contortions seasons while trying to somehow make tackles of opposing running backs running wild and defending 3rd down pass plays through my TV or sitting at invesco.
interestingness confirmed. 12/30/08.
