Say it ain't so Yorvit!

I guess Yorvit Torrealba is the first member of the 2007 National League Champs to sign with a different team. Tough to blame him when they offered him 4 times as much money as the Monforts were giving him last year. I just wonder how much we were willing to spend to keep him around. Over this year and last year it's tough not be a fan of a catcher who hits above .260 and will occasionally hit a dong (sometimes in rather clutch situations). Not to mention his fresh temper that would occasionally get him thrown out of games. On behalf of KTH, we'll miss you Yorvit.

I guess one silver lining is that he didn't go to a division foe and we probably won't be facing him much during the regular season next year. Although he will be suiting up for a team that I'm sure all of the Baseball Tonight soys will be picking as their pre-season NL Champs.

Let's just hope that management isn't planning on putting all of their eggs in the Chris Iannetta basket.

Bummed about the departure of Yorvit to the Mets. So long, so-so luck, Yorvit. As good as he was this year, something tells me he won't prosper the same way under the bright lights in Queens. I also wonder if he'll be able to stay as healthy as he did last season.

Rocks offered 7 mill for 2 years, Mets offered 15 mill for 3 years. I'm not sure matching that offer would have been too wise considering their payroll. We'll find out next year.

I guess I don't mind the talk of Lo Duca, although I hated him when he broke into the league. He usually does well at Coors.

this was news I expected.

Lo Duca...I'd take him here. Hateable for sure, but it all depends who a productive player is playing for....
There are a few other free agent catchers aren't there?

unwar the Iannetta option.

I did like Myvit... he was clutch and blocked just about everything behind the plate. Also, I like the way he handled the pitching staff. Still, can't blame him for chasing the $$. Also, he struggled to throw out runners. I heard the Rockies were already talking to Barrett... and Lo Duca and Jason Kendall are both on the agenda.

I really hope they resign Kaz Mat

Keeping Kazmat would be nice, but I kind of expect he'll be gone too.

I heard Kaz Mat really liked Denver and this team, but it always comes down to $$.

If he does leave, who plays 2nd base next year? Carroll? Stewart? Free agent?

For all you NBA guys out there, Ian Stewart is kinda like Andrew Bynum for the Lakers.
Some "talent" that is basically untouchable and for some reason pushing out stars.

See Garett Atkins
I will miss saying, "C'mon Super Yorvee!"

I meant to say this earlier, but I would like to take a dump in the Chris Iannetta basket.
