After such a promising start, that game was plenty brutal to watch (even with the good beer specials and a comped 3 Dogs meal). I don't know if it was the fake punt that took the air out of the defense after two good series, but they never looked the same afterward. Rios will always get his points (especially against us it seems), but the defensive squad looked defeated thereafter. One thing that drives me crazy about this defense (and has been the case for the last few years) is how few turnovers we get. That Bailey INT was really just a great defensive play that saved a long pass completion. Didn't really work in the traditional turnover sense in that it would have been 4th down and the punt would have been a similar result most likely....Offensively, as Tirico so aptly put at one point, they just looked out of sync. A few good plays here and there, but nothing sustained after the first drive. The gadgetry was overdone. At a pretty crucial point while the game was still close, we had a 2nd and 3 inside Charger territory. A failed razzle dazzle bomb to the end zone followed by an INT pretty much closed the door on any realistic shot. I guess this team isn't going to win the Super Bowl afterall.....Oh, and he's still very hateable in the post-Cuntler era.....

Got to hand it to that Chargers fan, he's got gumption, and a skillful way with 3 dimensional metaphors.
I'm sure I've said it a million times, but could one person just plain look more like a prick than Philip Rivers? Seriously?
That little home movie they played during the broadcast, "Rivers as child playing football by himself in his yard" just compounded my belief.
Yes, I agree. You have to hate that shit eating grin of his and the fact that all his smack talk is clean is proof positive that this guy is one super-sized weenie.
I've long been under the spell that he is on steroids and that he furnishes the rest of the team with steroids by peeing in the water coolers. The entire SD defense is strung out on his special juice.
Those videos greatly enhanced the urge to vomit that was already in place. And the mention of another rising little Rios brother QB star didn't help matters.
He's gotta be on the juice in order to deliver that 'shot put' stile of throwing the MNF crew kept harping on. By the way, that pic up there is actually from the pre-game introductions....no lie.
