3 More Years of Hawpe

Sounds like the Rocks and Hawpe have agreed to a 3-year deal (going through the arbitration years) with a team option to extend into the first free agent year. Another move that looks like the team has a plan to commit multi-year deals with a sizable amount of jack to good young players, without totally breaking the bank.

If Holliday and Atkins get extension deals, Rockies fans might have to change their tune about management....keep up the good work boys....

Five days until DT and myself head to Tucson to check out some Cactus League action.

the commitment in general shown to the homegrown talent is very encouraging. here's hoping Hawpe keeps improving at the plate, (especially against the lefties)

oh yeah, sweet Hawpe portrait.

i'd like to get that on black (or purple?) velvet.

And black-light ready?

Loving me some Rockies Classic games on FSN while checking out Spring Training preview received in the mail courtesy of the ticket package.

1995 season finale against the Giants is pretty awesome. Mullets everywhere. Giants with (mini) Bonds and Rich Arillia (sp?) in this game. Weren't those two also on the '07 Roster? Charile Jones and Dave Campbell have the call..The Mile High '93 opener was also pretty classic last hour. Some really bootleg players back then. Awesome.

Thank god I won't have to go without Nickleback tunes for the next three summers.

I was just wondering today if I'll be able to buy $1 bags of peanuts outside of Hi Corbet. Will there be a Swankys equivalent near Hi Corbet? Hopefully yes to both.

Favorite part of the 2008 Preview Mag: The "Catching up With Ellis Burks" article/interview....

Good point on the guaranteed Nickleback fix for the next several years. They should at least have a Swanky's tent set up somewhere near Hi Corbet!!

you may want to play that hi-corbett shit safe and make a grocery store peanut score.

jealous you guys are going...

Kind of thinking the same thing, a grocery store trip may be a wise move.

I hope the HH tshirt is ready for some serious wear. The mission of the trip will be to get myself in a pic with Clint wearing said shirt.

frankly i PRAY that Hawpe ditches the Nickelback.
if Spilly quits on one of the only decent at-bat songs, the White Stripes "7 nation army" for whatever that fucked tune he used after his call up last year, so can Hawpe. (i was at his first game of the '07 season in the bigs and he rocked the White Stripes like in '06, but had a change of heart soon after in favor of whatever that nonsense is that he had the rest of the season)

That nonsense is that Gwen chick from No Doubt. And yes, it totally sucks. C'mon Hawpe, follow suit!

Where's the Forsberg talk?!?!
Thank you for the text TD.
This line is looking damn good this second period. The Mrs. and I were glued to the TV for the pregame and entire 1st period.
Love the old school shots of a young Foppa.
