The Greatest Question Facing Mankind

Hypothesis: Yes, it's time to take one step back from a semi-heartbreaking loss tonight. Yes, the Avs lose and the excitement that was mounting after the tying goal with the goalie pulled was squashed within a minute of OT, but KTH was not only paying attention to the scoreboard, we were also carrying out critical science experiments. A question that has plagued the upright, walking primate since the early days of heavy metal has been what beer is best. I'm not talking about Michelob or Lowenbrau. This is the grandaddy of all cage matches: Miller High Life Light vs. Pabst Blue Ribbon Light. (Notice, I didn't use the over-cliched "PBR" reference. Unless you are uttering the slick line of "PBR me ASAP", please say Pabst to your bartender. Maybe the trendiness of this beer will die down and it won't cost $4.00 in a can some time soon.)

Results: I like Miller High Life Light better. Steve and SonicTooth like Pabst (BRL) better. Everyone agreed both beers offer quality taste and the promise of terrible beer farts the next day.

Conclusion: This series is going to be as close as any taste test between two of the most stellar swills around. I like the Avs in the long run and this loss hurts a bit, but Theo looks very solid and I'm confident we'll roll these pussies in 7.

This is so great....
I only wish I was a part of the scientific study.
I would think my tastebuds would prefer the Miller, but you never can tell, i guess.
Cap'n would surely be blown away if he didn't opt for his beloved Pabst.

I am going to assume there was some freelance indulging going on, as you referenced PBR Light v. Miller High Life.
But, the pic shows PBR and MHL Light.
Not sure i have ever drank a PBR Light.....

Obvi I was talking about High Life Light....and yes there was some freelance indulging. I figured there would be some errors in this post.

It was really fun to read (esp. with the Avs game embedded)and a pretty slick piece for a macrobeer buzz. The blog needs more of these types of posts.

That game was crazy. Playoff hockey is decent.

An improbable (but possible) win IN Utah tonight would all but cement a postseason bid for the Nugs.

I have to give steve some credit for the concept of posting about our taste test tonight. Somehow, it was quite easy to weave some Avs commentary into it.

Nuggs are looking pretty good right now, but hope they don't think their work is done. A win tonight would definitely build some confidence.

There is a little more to report about this taste test. While we all agreed that the Blue/Light Blue/White Pabst BRL cans and the Miller High Life Light Chrome/Blue/White/Red cans were both aesthetically pleasing, maybe even beautiful, we all also agreed that the Red/Green Christmas combination of the Minnesota Wild's sweater was the fucking ugliest thing we have ever seen.
We further agreed that for every great thing that Miller High Life Light and Pabst Blue Ribbon Light do for humanity are reversed by all those horrible fucking sweaters.
Also, let us not forget about the Pabst Blue Ribbon Light COMBINED with the Miller High Life Light taste test. This concoction maybe the best beer ever to come out of Wisconsin.
